Where three rivers converge at the southern foothills of the Bai Ma Snow Mountains
Inviting you to celebrate the beauty of Shangri-La’s terroir, discover the region’s hidden tales
With a history spanning a thousand years, this land, situated along the great river, has witnessed epic battles and heroic deeds that stir the soul. It is a place of exceptional beauty, where the heroic feats and great achievements of heroes from the Han, Tibetan, Bai, Mongol, Naxi and Manchu peoples have been immortalised in the annals of history. The people of all these ethnic groups live in harmony, intermarrying and maintaining neighbourly relations, treating one another with mutual respect; when they go out, they call one another brothers, and all are considered kin. It is a truly remarkable sight. In Ruo Hada Village, with over fifty households and more than ten clans, the people speak the Naxi language, observe Tibetan customs, and sing Lisu songs. Here, one finds Naxi courtyards, Tibetan shrines, and Lisu traditions. Visitors of all ethnicities may find inner peace and a sense of resonance here. The village is home to the ruins of a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, a Dongba sacred site for sky worship, a Guan Sheng Temple, and remnants of a Sanqing Temple; religious harmony is deeply engraved in the hearts of the people.
The village is a sacred place of Buddhism; the Dharma King of the Tibetan Buddhist Drikung Kagyu lineage was born here, and tales of the living Buddha are still passed down by word of mouth.

In 2008, our company settled in Hada, Eastern Tibet, and invited the local people to establish the Hada Farm together. Amidst the peaks of Lingjiu, flowers bloom in abundance, whilst rare Himalayan honeybees flit through the woods. Hada boasts breathtaking scenery and fertile soil; the introduction of the Vidal grape variety yields ice wine, a natural masterpiece. An ice wine estate was established amidst this scenic beauty, where Western winemakers work with joy, praising the estate’s scenery.
New wines from the Lapu Valley have emerged; villagers gather in the valley, emptying their large bowls to the dregs. As the sun sets, on their way home, the villagers lie drunk along the path.
We bow to Lapu, we bow to Hada, we bow to the heart of the Three Parallel Rivers region, we bow to the heart of Shangri-La.

LapuValley premium icewine 2021
Origin: Shangri-La, Yunnan, China
Grape Variety: Vidal
Alcohol: 11.6% vol
Year: 2021
Volume: 375ml
Sugar Content: 168 g/L Acidity: 10.1 g/L pH: 3.25
Winemaking Process:
The grapes for this wine are sourced from steep-sloped vineyards in three mountain-top villages—Kenzibu (Naxi), Bazhu (Tibetan) and Xiahailuo (Lisu)—at altitudes of 2,700–2,900 metres. The winemaker and viticulturist have selected the very best grapes through meticulous management. These three premium plots correspond precisely to the three principal ethnic groups that have coexisted in the Lapu Valley for generations. Whilst our selection was not initially driven by ethnic considerations, looking back, we see that professional judgement and the serendipity of fate have come together here.
The grapes are naturally air-dried in January, awaiting the frost and snow. Hand-harvested before sunrise, the ice-covered grapes are pressed using a pneumatic system to break the ice, followed by cold fermentation. Aged on fine lees for three years in temperature-controlled conditions, the floral notes become increasingly delicate.
Tasting Notes:
The floral profile of the 2021 vintage is particularly distinctive layers of jasmine and alpine wildflowers bloom atop notes of wild apricot and honey. High in sugar and acidity, it is balanced and melodious.
Brand Philosophy:
We are committed to blending grapes from a single variety across multiple premium plots. This is not to create a “standard answer”, but to allow you to experience the true character of the Lapu Valley: rich, layered and unique in every vintage. This is the malleability of terroir.
The label continues the tradition of the estate’s premium series—a sincere expression of excellence, following in the footsteps of the 2018 vintage.
